Coteba, the engineering and construction group selects CTSpace to facilitate project management and collaboration on the ‘Les Halles’ project in the centre of Paris.

The project is at the forefront of building architecture in the City of Paris with an estimated project value of €760 million. Construction will begin in May 2010 and will span over seven years from conception to delivery. Coteba will be using the Saas product hosted by CTSpace to optimise document management and collaborative working on this new ambitious and complex project which and will include a huge number of participants.

Paris, France, 20th of January 2010 – CTSpace, the industry leading developer of document and business process management in the Engineering and Construction sector, announced that they will be working with Coteba on their latest project in the ‘Les Halles’ region in the metropolitan heart of the French capital. Due to the group’s wealth of experience in such large construction operations, Coteba has been appointed to provide consultancy and project management services to the asset owner La Mairie de Paris.

One stand out part of the project is the giant glass canopy, designed by the ambitious French architects Patrick Berger and Jacques Anziutti. The 11 meter high window will cover 3 stories including a newly built commercial centre and will be partially covered with plants and greenery. The public areas are being designed to aide pedestrian movement and will entail a large garden covering 4.3 hectares. The transport links to the area are also going through a complete rejuvenation where around a quarter of the budget for the project will be spent. The train station at Châtelet-Les Halles was the first station of its kind in Europe back in 1900 but today is swamped with around 800,000 people per day. The new development plans are to facilitate access and security at the station to help cope with its huge amount of daily users. Work is expected to start in May 2010 for final delivery of the project in 2015-2016. The project will be implementing the latest innovative technologies to be used in a durable construction and development environment. An example of this cutting edge use of technology is night time lighting which will be electrically supplied by a solar panel system that collects light energy throughout the day.

Coteba will be using the Saas based product by CTSpace to optimise document management , create a clean and complete audit history of project communication and share information between the large number of project participants on this complex project.
