Is Business Process Designer a new product?

Yes, Business Process Designer (BPD) is a new product that provides an intuitive approach for designing business process forms, creating workflows, defining data elements, and generating attachment grids that can be uploaded and used within a CW collaborative workspace.

How does BPD relate to CW?

BPD and CW are separate products, but they are related to each other in the following way: BPD is used to design new Business Process Templates (BPTs) or edit/customize existing CW BPTs, which are then uploaded into CW for use in collaborative workspaces.

Who would use Business Process Designer?

Business Process Designer is ideal for a variety of business users.

How can I access the power of BPD?

There are two ways:

  • CTspace will provide Professional Services consulting to design and deploy the custom business processes that meet the needs of your organization.
  • Customer's can license BPD to design and deploy their own custom business processes.

Please contact a CTSpace Consultant for more information on how you can begin benefiting from the use of BPD.

How can BPD benefit Six Sigma or ISO 9000 initiatives?

CW's proven audit trail technology provides the back up history to comply with either Six Sigma or ISO 9000 monitoring and reporting requirements. BPD, combined with CW, provides customers with a method for modeling, optimising, and standardising current enterprise or regulatory business processes in order to reduce or eliminate inherent project and organisational inefficiencies and costs. Using business process modeling techniques in association with BPD enables companies to achieve and maintain Six Sigma or ISO 9000 certification.

Can I modify a BPT after I've started using it in CW?

Yes. You can modify a BPT at anytime by using the designer tool and then importing it as a revision to the existing BPT in CW. The numbering sequence for the revised BPT will start where the old BPT version left off, so that you can maintain a traceable history of the business process.

Do I have to make my own templates or are there ready-to-use Standard Business Process Templates?

Using industry best practices as a baseline, we have developed a flexible library of business process templates that allow customers to customize their processes quickly and easily, according to their individual business needs or to adhere to Six Sigma guidelines or ISO 9000 standards.

How long will it take to design a business process template that to use in CW?

The time to design a business process can be measured in hours; however, this will depend largely on the complexity of the process. CTSpace Professional Services and Consulting team will work with you to understand your business needs and assess the complexity required to design and implement a business process template.

Do you have to purchase CW in order to use Business Process Designer?

Business Process Designer is a stand-alone product and does not require the purchase of CW application for use. Yet, BPD itself will only provide offline form and workflow design capabilities. To utilize the Business Process Templates created with BPD requires a CW account with the necessary permissions to import Business Process Templates.

What computer or IT skills are required to use BPD?

BPD provides a graphical user-friendly interface to model a business process and design associated forms without requiring any programming, scripting skills, or IT/Database knowledge. Business Process Designer is intended for use by analysts, business process designers, or CW Business Process Administrators who do not have any IT expertise. Although we highly recommends that business processes be sketched out, discussed, and reviewed by all affected parties before entering them into the application, the only software skills needed before using BPD is the ability to drag-and-drop objects into the design area.

What are the System Requirements for BPD?

Please refer to the System Requirements page for more information.

What training does CTSpace provide for BPD?

We provide a Getting Started class that is delivered via the Web and lasts no longer than 1 hour. Please contact a CTSpace Consultant for more information.
